Looking to replace a few missing teeth, or even your full set? At Kusek Family & Implant Dentistry, we have been placing and restoring implants for 40 years!
Our practice offers state-of-the-art tooth replacement services in the form of dental implants! Dental implants are strong prosthetic replacements for missing teeth that are surgically implanted into the jawbone to provide strong, stable, natural-looking new teeth.
Dental implants are a great option for those who suffer from missing teeth because they look and feel just like your natural teeth. Additionally, they can restore the normal function of the mouth and smile.
Dental Implant Placement
When you choose tooth replacement with dental implants, the first step toward your new smile is a visit to our office for dental implant placement. Our skilled team will place your implant restoration into the jawbone, then, over the next three to six months, the bone will bond with the implant in a process called osseointegration.
Once the implant has bonded with the jawbone, you'll return to our office for abutments that are attached to the implant and protrude through the gums to provide stable anchors for artificial teeth. We will digitally scan where the implants are located and will have a custom abutment and crown made specifically for you. After we place these into your implant, the process of implant placement will be completed.
Once you’ve had your dental implants placed, you should care for your implants the same way you care for your natural teeth. This means brushing and flossing regularly. You should also continue to visit us at Kusek Family & Implant Dentistry for check-up visits every six months. During these visits, your dentist will check on your dental implants to ensure optimal function and ensure proper healing.
The Durability of Dental Implants
Dental implants are considered a permanent solution to tooth loss. Unlike removable dentures, they do not require adhesives and are not removable. While dental implants do require a certain level of maintenance, they can last decades with proper care!
Other factors that may affect how long your dental implants last include your oral hygiene routine, the activities you participate in, and your eating habits. If you take great care of your dental implants and feed them a healthy diet, they can last much longer.
